Railings
”Summer had finally arrived – time to paint! Over 60 years old, the original railings in the exterior stairs were spotted with rust and covered with worn-out paint and deep dirt. This is despite the fact that we clean the railings each summer. I thought I had a bigger job in my hands: washing, brushing, anti-rust painting and priming before the actual painting. But no such effort required!
After the wash, I brushed the railings with an iron brush, wiped them and painted them with Maston Hammer spraypaint. Even though I had to spray several coats, protecting the stairs and walls was by far the most tedious part of the job! Besides waiting for the weather this spring, that is. Firs it was cold, and when it finally got warmer, the wind picked up. But now the job is done and the railings look brand new!
Spray paint is a wonderful thing because as long as you spray coats thin enough, the paint doesn’t run. It’s easier to reach those difficult nooks and crannies with a spray than with a brush, and if you paint outdoors, no need to worry about flying debris or evening humidity because the paint dries quick. The Maston Hammer spraypaint contains anti-rust, primer and top coat – all in the same can!”
