Maston Gelcoat Filler – Putty for Gelcoat Surface Repairs

A high-quality, polyester resin–based filler for repairing small scratches, chips, and worn areas on boats and other gelcoat surfaces. Its thick, non-sagging consistency makes it easy to apply even on vertical areas, and it cures to an extremely hard, glossy, and durable finish.

Features: Fills small defects in gelcoat surfaces. Fast curing – sandable in approx. 4 hours. Easy to apply and sand. Water- and UV-resistant finish. Does not remain tacky. Suitable for demanding conditions.

Instructions: Mix base and hardener at a ratio of 100 : 2 (by weight in grams). Do not exceed the recommended amount of hardener. Apply with a spatula or putty spreader. Remove the damaged area or scratch using a ball cutter, chisel, or similar tool down to the deepest point of the damage. Shape the area into a “V” for best adhesion. It is also recommended to bevel the edges of the area.

Working time: 6–7 minutes (23 °C). Layer thickness: max. 1 mm per layer; sand before applying the next one. Drying time: approx. 4 hours (20 °C). Minimum working temperature: +10 °C.

Further finishing once fully cured: general sanding P240–P800, finishing sanding P800–P1200. Polish if needed. Do not apply directly on reactive primers or one-component acrylic or nitrocellulose products, nor on PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, or other soft plastic surfaces.
