Painting a pallet sofa with spray paint

Required materials for painting a pallet sofa

• Spray paint, topcoat (Maston ONE)
• Primer (Maston ONE)
• Spray lacquer (Maston ONE)
• Sandpaper (180 grit)
• Painter’s tape
• Protective paper or plastic (if needed)
• Protective gear (mask, gloves, safety glasses)

Steps on how to paint a pallet sofa

1. Preparation

• Choose a suitable location for painting.
• Prepare the pallets for painting.
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Cover any surfaces you do not want painted to protect them from overspray, especially when working indoors.

2. Surface Preparation

• If the pallets are raw wood, sand them thoroughly.
• Clean the pallets to remove dirt and dust.
• Allow them to dry completely if they have been exposed to rain.

3. Apply Primer

• Test the spray on a hidden area first.
• Apply two to three coats of Maston ONE primer. This improves paint adhesion and creates an even base.
• Allow the primer to dry. Check the drying time on the can.

4. Apply Maston ONE Topcoat

• We recommend Maston ONE acrylic spray paint, which dries quickly and provides excellent UV protection for a long-lasting result.
• Spray lightly and evenly.
• Allow each coat to dry before applying the next. Two to three coats usually provide good coverage.
• To improve durability, we recommend applying two coats of Maston ONE lacquer after the paint layers. Follow the lacquer instructions separately.

5. Allow to Dry Before Use

• Once the paint is fully dry, the pallet bench is ready for use. Add cushions or other accessories as desired.
• Remove all protective coverings and clean the work area.
